Located on the crest of a knoll in the rolling horse farm countryside of Central Kentucky is a totally renovated modern day farmhouse.
Purchased by the current homeowners in 2003, this twenty-year-old home's existing footprint has been totally reconfigured to adapt to today's lifestyle. There is a new two-story addition consisting of an elaborate master suite, with a dressing area, master bath, his and her closets as well as the master bedroom. The addition also incorporates new formal entertaining areas of the living room and dining room. The second floor of the addition was made into a "college bound" teenager's retreat, which is conveniently secluded from the rest of the house.
Other additions include a screened-in porch on the rear of the property as well as a new three-car garage. These additions have taken a 2400 square foot house to over 5000 square feet of livable space.
The remaining existing areas of the original house, the basement and existing second floor guest bedrooms, were given a face-lift with new paint, wallpaper and floor coverings.
From the exterior, to the new gourmet kitchen, to the old horse stall door that separates the farm office from the rest of the house, an extreme amount of attention to detail has resulted in a project that flows throughout. The traditional interiors, with French Country flair, have provided a totally livable home. It was accomplished by the complete collaboration between Owner, architect, designer and contractor.
