Green Construction
In 1979, Barbara Mandrell and George Jones had a number one hit, "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool." The song includes the line, "Now look at everybody tryin' to be what I was then. I was country, when country wasn't cool." We think of that song when we reflect on Crawford Builders' longstanding commitment to environmentally responsible and energy efficient building practices. We were a green builder long before it became fashionable. We were green when green wasn't cool.
We are proud that we were the first company in the region to build a "super insulated home," designated by the Lexington Homebuilders Association in 1984 as its "Outstanding Single Family Project." Our pride does not come from being first or because of a prestigious award. It stems from having stayed true to a commitment made many years ago, and building on it year after year with new knowledge, techniques and technologies.
That brings us to today and the depth of green knowledge and expertise we offer to our new home and remodeling clients. We can provide you with geothermal heating and cooling systems and with paints and finishes that don't generate volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Whenever feasible, we use recycled and natural materials. Construction site evaluations are done with energy and environmental considerations in mind. We assure that all of our new homes receive the highest possible energy efficiency ratings.
Most importantly, we provide you with a multitude of green ideas and options, and then we give you thirty-five years of commitment and knowledge and experience in helping you to make your choices.
